Marjorie Stehling: "Sis and I would go fishing ..."

There are so many things I want to tell about Sis and Lloyd. We loved those guys and had so many special times with them.  We miss Lloyd and I wish we were closer to where Sis is so we could visit often.
Sis and I would go fishing in the intercoastal waterway by ourselves if our husbands were too busy to go with us (which all of us did a few times) and did it on Lloyd's scooter.  She was never afraid to drive it herself and I being a scardicat would never attempt something like that.  She taught me how to tie a fisherman's knot on a hook and this was something her daddy taught her many years before.
We used to go waterskiing in the summer in the Arroyo and Lloyd made a round disc and a surfboard that we all learned to use.  We each hired a babysitter and would spend Saturday afternoons at the arroyo.  A couple of times we skied all the way to Arroyo City; had dinner at a restaurant down there and then skied back.  One night skiing back we saw something in the water---Dan was on his skies on one side of it and Sis was skiing on the other side of it; after we got past we realized it was a deer swimming.
Lloyd taught Dan how to golf and how to make golf clubs.  Sis taught me how to play golf. A couple of times after we moved to Arkansas, they invited us to stay with them while Dan played in the Life Begins at 40 tournament at the Country Club.  We played golf many times with them and they had so much patience with us which we really appreciated all the good times we had together.
We have a cute picture of you and Curt playing on a Slip N Slide in our backyard with our kids. I probably wouldn't be able to find the picture as I never kept albums like your Mom did.  She was great at it as she was with numerous other talents.
Lloyd was a faithful customer of ours at the lumber yard too.
I hate to think of Sis in Hospice ... I know she is not happy but is making the best of it. She is very, very special.
                                                 Love and prayers,
                                                         Marjorie Stehling
