My fond, fond memories of Sis usually swirl around tennis, ping pong and essentially anything with a racquet. Loving the game to this day, I was at the time impressed by her state ranking in Texas, always a hard state to be ranked in tennis. So each Christmas I would tremendously look forward to getting out on the court and playing some version of doubles with my forehand only, but all in (with) Dad, bandy-legged golf-swingish Lloyd, consistent consistent Pam, and anyone else brave enough to partake.
It was always fun, always competitive and served as a bellwether as to how my game was going as the seasons passed.
I received a DVD converted from Super 8 from my mom and dad of tennis footage from one of those Christmas family matches featuring my dad, Lloyd, Sis and me. I smiled throughout the footage and laughed at times hysterically watching the points, the haircuts, the short short tennis shorts, the old strokes, the old racquets and the killer competition and resolve/focus of all involved.
Great times, great memories, great classic play ...
